CONDITION DETAILS Vinyl plays nicely (play-graded). Cover looks great; a few creases near edges; light-scuffing, slight discoloration with darker discoloration spots, and surface impressions (front/back). Inner-sleeve is original (photos/lyrics/credits); two seams partially split. Spine is easy-to-read with mild-wear. Minor shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge; some wear to corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots. (Not a cut-out.)
ABOUT THE RECORD 9 to 5 and Odd Jobs, is a concept album about working. Its title track, 9 to 5, also served as the theme song to the hit film of the same name (starring Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda, and Lily Tomlin). The single topped both the U.S. country and pop charts. The album's two additional singles—a cover of Mike Settle's But You Know I Love You and The House of the Rising Sun – provided further country hits, with But You Know I Love You also reaching #1. The understated pop-country arrangement of most of the songs was seen as a welcome return to form for Parton by critics. In addition to five Parton compositions, the album contains a number of folk and country classics, including work by Woody Guthrie, Mel Tillis, and Merle Travis.
