ABOUT THE RECORD Rockstar by Dolly Parton, is her first full-length rock album, created after her Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction when she decided she needed to earn the honor with a genuine rock project mixing nine originals and twenty-one covers of classic anthems across a sprawling thirty-track set. The record became an event through an extraordinary guest list that includes Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr reuniting on Let It Be, Lizzo adding flute to an eight-minute Stairway to Heaven, goddaughter Miley Cyrus on a reworked Wrecking Ball, Stevie Nicks, Elton John, Sting, Steve Perry, Joan Jett, P!nk and Brandi Carlile on ^(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction^, and a version of Free Bird that incorporates original vocals from the late Ronnie Van Zant after his widow granted special permission. Parton recruited many collaborators by mailing personal love letters that included her phone number, and standout originals include the title track with Richie Sambora and the lead single World on Fire. Fan favorites quickly centered on the Beatles reunion, the Cyrus duet, the ambitious Zeppelin cover, and the high-energy guest features that let her hair down across more than two hours of music. The album reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200, her highest career peak, while topping the Top Country Albums, Top Rock & Alternative Albums, and Top Album Sales charts, and World on Fire hit No. 1 on Rock Digital Song Sales.
