Description
DON BLACKMAN – DON BLACKMAN Original 1982 US pressing. Arista GRP – GRP 5509.
The jazz-funk / boogie grail. Holding You, Loving You. Heart's Desire. Since You Been Away So Long. Sampled endlessly, and originals rarely surface in the UK.
THIS COPY • Genuine 1982 original – machine-stamped STERLING in the run-out both sides (Ted Jensen mastering). Not the 1998 reissue. • Run-outs: Side 1: GRP 5509 SA. Side 2: A-1 / GRP 5509 SB (hand-etched). • Cream Arista GRP labels • Original printed lyric/credit inner sleeve included • Sleeve still in original opened shrink, barcode top right of back cover • Play-tested – plays well throughout, no skips or jumps
CONDITION Vinyl: VG+ – light surface scuffs to the outer tracks of side 2 and fine paper hairlines, visible under direct light, mostly in the dead wax. No deep scratches. Side 1 cleaner. Sleeve: EX – sharp corners, shrink intact bar a small tear at the opening edge. Inner: EX.
All photos are of the actual record, including close-ups of the marks described. Posted in a proper LP mailer with stiffeners, record outside the sleeve to prevent seam splits. Tracked and insured.
