Description
This is a genuine ORIGINAL pressing of this very rare double album, NOT one of the unofficial reprints currently on sale.
The discs have been played only twice, on high-quality equipment - once when I got them in 1972 and then recently for checking - so the vinyl is in NM condition, visually immaculate, one or two slight static pops on playing. In my collection since new, stored in my living-room. The gatefold cover is in EX condition, with just light wear along the bottom edge, faint ring marks and a couple of other very small details. The discs are in new inner sleeves, but for completeness the originals are included in the auction. Note: the photos were taken in natural light, and the patterns that appear to be on the discs are just lighting effects.
Impossible to categorise because it's truly unique, but Gothic, electronic rock, psychedelic rock, avante-garde, experimental, outsider music just about covers it!, Don Bradshaw Leather is included in the NWW (Nurse with Wound) shopping list for collectors of outsider and avante-garde music, 'Distance Between Us' being his only known work.
Here's the provenance. At the time the discs were pressed I was taking flute lessons from Bob Downes, the great jazz/rock/avante-garde/'open music' multi-instrumentalist, who was then starting his own Openian label (which is still going strong). Bob was having one of his first albums pressed at around the same time that Don Bradshaw was having 'Distance Between Us' pressed. They met through this, and Don gave one or two of copies of his album to Bob, who passed this one on to me. I part-played it once, then put it on my shelves as it wasn't really my genre, and forgot about it until recently.
