THIS IS A VERY NICE COPY! Up for sale is one(1)Don McLean - American Pie 1971 ORIGINAL UNABRIDGED PRESSING LP in the ORIGINAL SHRINK with HYPE STICKER and GOLD RECORD STICKER on United Artists Records (#UAS-5535). THERE IS NO BARCODE. Comes with the original brown custom inner sleeve with the poem about William Boyd A.K.A. Hopalong Cassidy. THE BROWN INNER SLEEVE WAS REMOVED WITHIN 3 MONTHS AFTER THE INITIAL RELEASE. LATER ISSUES DID NOT INCLUDE THE SLEEVE WITH THE POEM.
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS THE ORIGINAL, FULL LENGTH VERSION OF THE ALBUM, AND NOT -- I REPEAT: NOT - THE LATER "ABRIDGED" REISSUE WITH TWO TRACKS MISSING.
THIS LP FEATURES THE BIG HIT "AMERICAN PIE".
GOOD LUCK FINDING A COPY THAT IS STILL IN THE ORIGINAL SHRINKWRAP WITH THE ORIGINAL HYPE STICKER.
The vinyl is in Very Good condition but has some superficial / unfeelable visual surface marks / rubs that do not affect play, but you may hear some surface noise along the way. As is with a Very Good rating there is going to be a certain amount of surface noise. More noticible during the quiet parts.
The sturdy cardboard cover is still in the original shrinkwrap with the original hype sticker and is in VERY GOOD condition with typical wear from age, including, but not limited to minor corner dings and slight ring wear, etc... This type of cardboard cover typically does not age well, but this one is in great shape. There are no split seams or cut-outs. There is a part of the original price sticker that may come off with some elbow grease, but I'm leaving it as-is.
Comes with the orignial custom inner sleeve, which is also in VERY GOOD condition with NO split seams.
I obtained this LP sometime in the mid to late 1970's. It was gently played back in the day. Not played in over 30 years. I recently played this LP and it SOUNDS AWESOME.
