Description
Entirely stunning music from jazz genius Don Rendell and his crack team of Brit jazz virtuosos from the mid to late 1950s. This is bop at its finest, and on an LP that is all but impossible to find.
This is the only copy I've ever come across in decades of record collecting, scouring record shops, fairs, warehouses, boot sales and the like. So, while it's not in the most wonderful condition, I'll only be letting it go for a price I think the music is worth.
The good news is that while there are a couple of skips on track 1 side 1, and one on track 1 side 2, the rest plays fine with occasional surface noise and the odd tic, which don't really overpower the music. Yes, there are surface marks and hairlines but the Pye deep grooves are very forgiving.
The sleeve as you can see is poor, with damage in several places, a chunk missing and one portion that could be repaired. Most of the sleeve notes are in place and it will be sent VERY well packed.
A rare, rare Brit jazz classic – bid accordingly.
