Description
DON BYRD & GIG GRYCE - MODERN JAZZ PERSPECTIVE, Columbia CL-1058, deep groove pressing.
This 1957 recording features Donald Byrd (trumpet), Gigi Gryce (alto sax), Wynton Kelly (piano), Wendell Marshall (bass), Art Taylor (drums), Jackie Paris (vocal, 3 tracks), Julius Watkins (french horn), Jimmy Cleveland (trombone), Sahib Shihab (baritone sax) added on 3 tracks.
The tunes are Early Morning Blues, Early Bird, Elgy, Stablemates, Steppin' Out, Social Call, An Evening In Casablanca, Satellite.
Condition of record is E-, no scuffs, no scratches, several spindle marks, plays with slight occasional surface noise. Jacket shows some overall wear. 4 inch seam split lower right, spine is split half way.

V = Very Good. Noticeable wear, visual and audible. Records with slight surface noise and/or scuffs fall into this category.
G = Good. Not really all that good. Records in this category have more significant damage or wear.
F = More severe damage, distracting surface noise. Only used in incidence of extreme rarity.
P = Poor condition, proves existence of record only.
