Description

John Jenkins and Donald Byrd    Jazz Eyes   Regent 6056  mono  "Green and Silver" deep groove label.  Recorded by Van Gelder. This is the very hard to find original issue on Regent with the full color cover not the 1960s Savoy reissue.  An excellent hard bop session which is little known, probably because it's on Regent, which is not known as a jazz label.

John Jenkins (as), Donald Byrd (t), Curtis Fuller (tb), Tommy Flanagan (piano), Doug Watkins (b) Art Taylor (d)    Recorded 1957

"Green and Silver" label and deep groove both sides. "RVG" the in runout both sides.  Cover has "Newark, New Jersey" address.  Cover is laminated without printing on spine.

Record looks and plays M-/VG++.  There are two light small scratches on Side 2 and some light surface noise.

Cover is VG

Front cover is glossy and has light wear. App 1 inch dent at the top of the pocket  and a small one at the bottom.  Seams split 1/2 inch at top and bottom of pocket with piece of cover slick missing at top.  Heavy wear at the corners and small piece of cover slick missing at the bottom of spine.   The back cover has moderate wear and hint of ring wear.
