Description
His hardest-to-find title in mono, hands down. Released in December, 1967, mono was phased out by the beginning of 1968. Use the week to try and find one of these. It’s very common for a seller to list their copy as mono, but when you pull up the listing, you’ll see a stereo copy pictured. (Nobody falls for that one anymore!)
I cannot guarantee that this copy is a white label promo, because it is sealed. But what I CAN tell you is that I had bought out a collection of promo LP’s about 20 years ago, and along with this copy, there was a sealed copy of Donovan’s “Open Road” LP with the same “Demonstration Not For Sale” stamp on the back. I did open that copy, and it in fact is a white label promo.
The catalogue number at the top left corner as well as on the spine is the mono catalogue number, LN 24350, as opposed to the stereo catalogue number, BN 26350. The Epic logo on the front cover is located at the bottom on mono copies, whereas stereo copies have this logo at the top of the front cover with the word, “Stereo.” There is one breathe hole on the front cover near the center of the spine side.
The seal is 100% intact. There are extremely small areas of shelfwear to the top and bottom seams. Spine is gorgeous. Just as was the case with my copy of “Open Road,” the back cover was stamped with the “Demonstration Not For Sale” stamp before being shrinkwrapped, meaning that the stamp is under the shrink.
This is the real deal, no lie rare mono issue. And it could very well be a white label promo.
If you plan to bid, please read this first…
For the second time in two weeks, I’ve had a very high bid cancelled on my auctions. A third buyer who won her auction told me she was going to withhold payment for two days while she decided whether she wanted the LP. All of these LP’s were in the triple digits.
Please understand that on July 5th this year, I lost my job after 14 years. I’m selling off some prized possessions as a means of making ends meet, keeping my health insurance, looking for work and seeing if I can participate in Christmas this year. Having said that, from now on, if anyone places a bid and then cancels it for any amount, for any reason, they will automatically be blocked from future auctions immediately.
Why? If someone places a high bid and then retracts it, I lose watchers. And I don’t get those watchers back for the final day of bidding.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? eBay asks you to confirm your bid amount before you place your bid. So I don’t buy that you’ve entered the wrong amount. I have some very nice items from all artists, as well as rare and near mint Beatles LP’s coming up for sale in December, including a week’s worth of sealed early and first pressings. I don’t want to part with these, but I have to. Please hold up your end of the transaction.
And by all and every means, a warm and heartfelt thank you to the generous buyers who have helped me so far to meet my goals.
Thank you!
(Please note that due to time constraints, I have had to stop play-testing my vinyl. However, I am happy to by request. As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
