Beautiful record and cover. The record looks like new. The cover shows just the slightest wear a scrape on the top right front cover. Back cover has a circular sticker attached that says FIRST.
I've seen these FIRST and LAST stickers attached to some of the MFSL lps I have, not sure what they are about, tried to get some info on what they stood for or why MFSL would stick them on their product but haven't been successful. One can only assume they must indicate the start and end of the production of that lp.
I purchased this lp used in the condition you see here about 10 years ago on Ebay. I have carefully played it a few times over the years, though I bought this really not to play or listen to but just to ad to my Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab Lp collection.
I started collecting these Mobile Fidelity Lps when they first started appearing in the record racks at the local stereo retailers back in 1979. In my area the best place to buy high end stereo equipment was Pacific Stereo. These high end stereo retailers were also the only places you would find Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab Lps being sold. Part of the quality sound check was to test the equipment you were interested in by using the immaculate new sound found on these MFSL records, there were no CDs back then. MFSL was it. They were enticingly cool, the see thru vinyl when held under a light, the beautiful sheen on the vinyl, the design of the cover (ORIGINAL MASTER RECORDING) and of course the sound quality and quietness of the vinyl. You were sold, and convinced you can only play these MFSL records on the best equipment in the store. The record deserves nothing less. Yep that was me, I'd play them a few times, then feel guilty that maybe I'm going to wear it out if I played it too much. So instead of playing them I'd put them away and look at them once in a while. then CDs arrived.
