GReEN DaY Dookie lp album, orig pressing with ERNIE back cover -- SEALED
plus a 11" x 20" gilman st 1991 poster
and a Feb 1994 BAM (issue #425) w/green day cover story
HOW/WHEN --
ok, in 1994 when i came home with two copies of this orig pressing/lp the week it was released, i forgot i had the extra copy until i stumbled across it in the A-Z "rock music" shelves (about 2,000 lps, circa 1964-1990. "rock and roll" that's pre-beatles has its own section in a different room) a year ago.
?? so the second copy would have come from my stopping by the Cahn-Saltzman (managers) office on the way back down Telegraph Ave (where i'd bought this copy here first, c.f. the "Amoeba Records" price sticker that's still on it), before hitting the freeway to head home towards Hayward, CA 94541, fifteen miles south. i'd written the BAM (cover) story on the band/record/etc, so whoever was tending the office that afternoon asked me, "do you want a copy of the Shonen Knife album?" NO. nyet, nada, no. "ok, how about a copy of the green day album?" ok, sure, maybe i'll give my extra copy to someone.
FREE STUFF
(a) there were 1,000 copies run of this "1991 gilman st poster" (printed up as a giveaway five/six years later). our band had a small shitload of "free $$ money $$" from publishing (when a major label band covered one of our songs twice), so i took about 5% from my share of it, and printed up a thousand copies (of this photo, taken by a friend) for the hell of it. i think half of them were given away outside the SF Fillmore Auditorium, the last night that green day was playing five nights there right after Nimrod's release. in 1996 dollars the run cost only 35c/ea ($350), which would be about 65c/ea ($650) in today's money. = b&w is way cheaper than color printing! i still have a stash of about 20 to 30 of them saved.
my home printer/copier/scanner can't scan anything longer than 12", so the poster's photo is fractured here into a Left side and a Right side.
(b) there might be other extra copies of 1995/96 green day BAM issues with green day covers (besides the one pictured); i will include whatever i see when i dig out the "tabloid sized" hardshell box that has them (BAM issues) in it.
