3, Ireland’s mobile media network has just launched ‘3MusicStore™’ – a new virtual music store that offers over half a million tracks to download to your handset at an introduction price of just 99c each.

With the help of top Irish bands including The Blizzards, Republic of Loose, Julie Feeney, The Thrills, The Immediate, Neosupervital, Messiah J and the Expert and Royseven and artists Rosey and Brian Palm, the doors to the virtual music store swung open offering customers over 500,000 tracks for download to their phone and computer for only 99c for 3 months.

The bands and artists embarked on painting actual doors to represent the doors to the new virtual music store, which allows consumers download their favourite music ANYWHERE and at ANYTIME and to highlight that the new ‘3MusicStore™’ is here, there and everywhere.  The new ‘3MusicStore™’ is also the first place to offer an integrated online/mobile music offering (dual downloads) in Ireland – download music on their PC at www.three.ie/musicstore as well as their mobile, for delivery to both PC and mobile for one price.

The Blizzards

The Blizzards are an Irish ska pop band from Mullingar formed in 2003.  The band is made up of Niall Breslin (Lead vocals & guitar), Justin Ryan (Lead guitar), Dec Murphy (Drums), Anthony Doran (Bass) and Aidan Lynch (Keyboards and acoustic guitar).

The Blizzards signed with Universal Music Ireland after their debut single First Girl To Leave Town went to No. 11 in the Irish charts; making it the biggest selling independent release in Ireland in 2005. In 2006, the band's second single Trouble was released and went to No. 6 in the Irish charts. The single stayed in the Top 40 for seven weeks.

The band's next single Miss Fantasia Preaches was released in August 2006, followed by another single War of Words on Friday October 13 2006. Later that month and produced by legendary US producer Michael Beinhorn (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Korn, Soundgarden) the band's debut album A Public Display of Affection was released by Universal on October 27th.  Their album is currently no 4 in the Irish charts.
