Description
Up for bid is a rare original US mono pressing of the Doors' album "Waiting for the Sun." This is one of the rarest releases from the Doors and is highly sought after as it was released by Elektra at a time when mono recordings were being phased out and very few copies exist of this particular album, some research suggests as few as 1,000 pressed. Released in 1968, it is cataloged EKL 4024. Featured are the original gold Elektra labels and the original Elektra paper inner sleeve.
The gate fold jacket is in solid VG+ condition with only light shelf wear and slight ring wear on the top of the back cover and no tears. The vinyl is also in VG+ condition, with some light marks resulting in very light surface noise, mostly between the tracks and very quiet passages (the beginning of "Spanish Caravan" most notably), and absolutely no skips. Matrix etchings read: EK L 4024 A-1B on Side One and EK L 4024 B-1B on Side Two. This is an extremely hard to find record in any condition. This copy is not perfect but should not disappoint. After play grading it for this listing, I almost hate to get rid of it. Don't miss out on a great copy of an important piece of psychedelia.
Bid with confidence. All items are promptly shipped in sturdy cardboard record mailers with proper packing to ensure they arrive safely. To prevent damage to the jacket during shipment, LPs are removed from jacket and housed in a polymer bag with the jacket. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks for looking.
