Condition - The record shows little to no hints of wear and grades at NM. Record looks beautiful and plays with no static or noise. There are very light visual hints of play that do not affect the sound but other than that, the record is a little under perfect. The jacket shows minor signs of wear and grades at VG+. There are no seam splits, spine tears, punch holes, or cut corners but there is a drill hole on the front of the cover. The drill hole does not breech into the back cover nor the record/label. Aside from that, the jacket looks lovely with minor ring wear and general wear on the corners. Overall, grade is NM/VG+.

Grading - We grade using the goldmine standard and exclusively selling records of quality M (Mint), NM (Near Mint), NM- (Near Mint Minus), VG+ (Very Good Plus), VG (Very Good), and VG- (Very Good Minus). Only records that are sealed can be considered M (Mint). Everything is played tested and visually assessed before a final grading.

Comments - A fantastic release from Black Jazz Records. Doug Carn is probably the most recognizable name of the Black Jazz catalogue and for good reason. While having the most records on the label (total of 4) on the label, Doug Carn is easily the most recognizable face of Black Jazz Records. While Revelation does retain many of the signature sounds one expects of both Doug Carn and the Black Jazz catalogue, it is worth noting that there are some amazing elements of free improvisation going on in the grooves. Jean Carn, who has long departed from her husband, provides some amazing spirituality into the record with a bombastic opening in "God Is One" while tracks like Jihad close with fantastic representations of progressive jazz. It is a Doug Carn record, there is no doubt about it. It is a Black Jazz record, there is no doubt about that either. And overall, it is truly an amazing record that provides anybody with a fine listening experience, both in spirituality, jazz, and in progressive music. A house favorite and spiritual jazz classic.
