Doug Quattlebaum - Softee Man Blues - Prestige / Bluesville 1065
SUPER RARE! Most of the Prestige / Bluesville LPs from the 1960s are getting very scarce - make no mistake that this is one of the VERY hard-to-find titles! Quattlebaum certainly wasn't one of the biggest names to emerge from the East Coast blues scene, but listening to him, you wonder why. This is an incredible album with 14 exceptional cuts by the ice-cream truck driver who was rediscovered in South Philadelphia and produced by Pete Welding. The jacket has about a 4" seam split across the top and a 2" strip of scotch tape that prevented it from going any further. Aside from mild shelf and handling wear, the rest of the cover is clean. There's a small "Insp. by 149" stamp on the back and a small magic marker notation on the lower-right back corner. The labels and vinyl are clean on both sides. Don't miss the opportunity to bid on this GREAT album - it doesn't show up very often at all!
