This is your opportunity to own a very desirable and insanely collectible record from Irish group Dr. Strangely Strange. It is their debut album and the very first pressing on the seminal Island label produced by Joe Boyd and housed in a suitably psychedelic sleeve designed by Ernest J. Day. The record sleeve for this release is notoriously fragile and prone to wear and this copy is no exception. There are no tears, writing or discolouration on the cover. There is a small amount of ring-wear and some creasing to the top left-hand corner (see photos). the most notable wear to the sleeve is edge-wear, with the spine exhibiting the greatest amount. This is quite common with this record and I must stress that although there is some fraying to the cardboard there are absolutely no seam-splits.
The record itself has received many plays over the years so I have had it professionally cleaned. The cleaning brought up the shine of the vinyl and also showed quite a few small hairline marks and two or three deeper scratches. The record plays through without any skips or jumps to offer a thoroughly enjoyable listen. Surface noise is more evident in some sections than others and there are short periods where one or two recurrent tics are audible. Overall the strength of the production and the high quality analogue pressing are what is noticed when listening to this record. As determination of sound quality is so subjective, I have provided a digital recording of the entire album which can be accessed here:

Just a small note on the recording, there are two half-second audio dropouts in the first track which are a result of the digital transfer and are not present on the record.
