Description
Duke Ellington Concert, Hamilton Ontario, February 1954. Recorded on tape by Les Smith, and transferred to microgroove lacquer discs in April (so if you can read the label clearly, that's why it says April 1954). 3 12" 33rpm discs, 6 sides, banded, still in E+ condition. This was the set used for CD issue in the 90s, although some edits were made to eliminate a couple of false starts and miscues. The complete 2 hour concert is here (Les missed the start on one or two numbers when he had to change tapes). Discs are in beautiful condition, sleeves are the originals with some slight crinkling on one. Also included is an original track list for sides 1 & 4. (Discs are in "slide auto" sequence, i.e. sides 1 & 4, sides 2 & 5, sides 3 & 6.)
