Duke Ellington ORIG OZ Promo LP Far east suite NM ’67 RCA LSP3782 Jazz Swing
Original OZ Promo LP released in 1967 on RCA Records. Cat: LSP3782.Over the next few weeks I will be listing some wonderful Jazz titles from a recently acquired Jazz collection. The original owner passed away back in 1985 and his sister decided to hold onto them for sentimental reasons. She had not touched or played them since then (1985!!). The records are in stunning condition for their age many, apart from a few light age spots on the covers, look like they walked off the shelf yesterday. I hope you enjoy viewing and possibly purchasing these wonderful jazz vinyl artifacts as much as i have in preparing them for sale and listening to them!!
Duke Ellington could have been forgiven if, by the time he was 67, he had gradually lost his creative desire not to mention his writing skills. But his genius never dimmed as witness the new music ("The Far East Suite" and "Ad Lib on Nippon") on this superb set. "The Far East Suite" is in reality eight separate compositions of which the beautiful "Isfahan" (a memorable Johnny Hodges feature) became the best-known melody; Paul Gonsalves and Jimmy Hamilton are also among the main stars with the clarinetist being showcased throughout "Ad Lib on Nippon." But it is the writing of Ellington and Strayhorn in their late prime that makes this one of his more memorable recordings.
There are a few very light spindle marks on labels. Record is in Near Mint condition. Gloss cover has some light age spots on back and is in Excellent condition.

Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
Post methods within Australia: All records are posted via Australia Post. Within Australia all items come with a tracking number.
Post method for overseas: All parcels are sent via Australia Post and are sent on a standard airmail service. There are no tracking numbers on these items. If you require a tracking number the item will have to be sent as an insured item which incurs a further postage fee.
