Description

Duke Pearson – The Phantom LP | Early Blue Note Liberty Pressing | Van Gelder | BST 84293

A superb example of one of the most sought-after late-1960s Blue Note releases.

Duke Pearson's "The Phantom" is widely regarded as one of the most adventurous and collectible albums from the Blue Note catalogue, blending soul jazz, Latin influences and spiritual jazz with outstanding performances from Bobby Hutcherson, Jerry Dodgion, Bob Cranshaw and Mickey Roker.

This is not a modern reissue but an early Liberty-era Blue Note pressing, dating from approximately 1968-1970, featuring the desirable Van Gelder mastering stamp in the deadwax.
