Duke Pearson on Blue Note 4267

 

This is the rare Van Gelder-stamped mono pressing of Duke Pearson “The Right Touch” on the Liberty labels of Blue Note BLP 4267.  The playing surface is in as-new condition, with a high luster; possibly unplayed.  The coated New York 10019 cover is clean and bright throughout, but with noticeable ring wear on the front.; ¾” split on the top seam, at the opening.  Liberty issued seventeen promo-only mono pressings to radio stations that had not yet converted to stereo transmission, placing a “MONO” sticker over “stereo” on the front.  Illustrated inner sleeve is included.
