Dvorak Symphony 9 Kubelik UK Decca SXL 2005
This was the fifth record released on Decca's Classical FFSS Series. The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Rafael Kubelik performs Dvorak’s “Symphony No. 9” (not 5 as shown on the record). An original English stereo pressing on the Decca Label (SXL 2005 stampers 4E/2E), the labels have a full frequency stereo sound fatband and ffss logo with Original Recording by… at 10 o clock and a groove. The record has three or four surface scuffs that do not sound, and it is of otherwise very good appearance, and plays and sounds superb with some crackle and surface noise at the start of side one and some low-level surface noise thereafter. The cover has rubbed with a ring and some minor wear to the edges – there is a small split on the bottom edge at the right-hand corner and the bottom foldover on the back is torn – about a third missing. The back has a blue ffss border and the foldovers have cut-outs.The FFSS inner bag is excellent.
