Description
This auction is for a vintage hand etched Berliner Gramophone 7” record.
Titled “In Old Madrid Cornet Solo by W. Paris Chambers Wash D C ?? 9-97”.
Also on the label is “E. BERLINER’S GRAMOPHONE, Patented Nov, 8,
1887 May 15 1888. – May 6 1890, FEB’. 19 1895. Oct 29, 1895 OTHER PANTENTS APPLIED FOR.
The record has small scuffing, groove wear as well as some small indentations or
what might be called 'dimples' in the grooves. This is considered to be pretty common
or normal wear for a record that was recorded more than 115 ago. I tried to make out the writing as much as possible.
There is a small chip on the top edge that may effect the first and second grove (see picture).
I’m not an expert on Berliner records, and I’m not able to comment on grading or test for sound.
