Description
The inner sleeve of the album was signed at Wembley Stadium on 3 August, 1996 by Glen Frey (deceased), Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B Schmit and Don Felder. It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA).
The fourth studio album by the band, released on 10 June, 1975, 'One Of These Nights' would become the Eagles first #1 album on the Billboard album chart in July of that year. The album yielded three Top 10 singles; 'One Of These Nights', 'Lyin' Eyes' and 'Take It To The Limit', with its title single giving the band its second #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100. The album sold 4 million copies and was nominated for 'Grammy Album of the Year' and the single 'Lyin' Eyes' was also nominated for 'Record of the Year' and won the Eagles their first Grammy for 'Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals'.It was the last album to feature guitarist Bernie Leadon, who was later replaced by Joe Walsh, and it proved to be the bands commercial breakthrough, transferring them into international superstars. The band embarked on a worldwide tour to promote the album.
'One Of These Nights' debuted on the Billboard 200 chart at #25 on its first week of release, before climbing to #1 on its fourth week on the chart, where it stayed for the next four weeks. It was to be the first of four consecutive #1 albums by the band. It was certified quadruple Platinum by the 'Recording Industry Association of America' (RIAA), signifying shipments of over 4 million copies in the US.
The Eagles are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1971. The founding members were Glenn Frey (guitar/vocals), Don Henley (drums/vocals), Bernie Leaden (guitar/vocals) and Randy Meisner (bass guitar/vocals). Glenn Frey passed away on 18 January, 2016.
With five #1 singles, 6 Grammy Awards, 5 American Music Awards and six #1 albums, the Eagles were one of the most successful music acts of the 1970's. At the end if the 20th Century, two of their albums, 'Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975)' and 'Hotel California', were ranked among the 20 best selling albums in the US according to the 'RIAA'. 'Hotel California' was ranked 37th in Rolling Stones list of 'The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time' and the band was ranked #75 on the same magazines 2004 list of '100 Greatest Artists of All Time'.
