The earliest version of this song by Earl King came out in 1960 from Ace Records subsidiary Rex label under the name "Darling Honey Angel Child". 

In the same year, King left Ace for Imperial Records where he recorded the song again - this time with changed lyrics. 

The recording was released as "Come On Part 1” b/w “Come On Part 2” (Imperial 5713) in 1960.
