Description
Released in 1979, this LP features wide range and stereo recordings made by Bell Telephone Laboratories in the 1930s. Leopold Stokowski conducts the Philadelphia Orchestra (1931-1932) in memorable performances of six classical favorites:
Hector Berlioz: "Roman Carnival Overture" Carl Maria Von Weber: "Invitation to the Dance" Felix Mendelssohn: "Scherzo from 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' " Richard Wagner: "Liebestod from 'Tristan und Isolde' " Alexander Scriabin: "Prometheus: Poem of Fire" Modest Mussorgsky: "Pictures at an Exhibition"
This record is brand new, sealed in its original cellophane shrink wrap, has never been opened or played. I purchased it shortly after release, and have stored it for over 45 years in my record cabinet.
A wonderful addition for the classical collector.
