Description
Ed Andrews RARE Country Blues 78 rpm on the OKEH label # 8137 (a USA pressing). The 2 sides are titled Barrel House Blues and Time Ain't Gonna Make Me Stay (both sides are Guitar Solo with Vocal Chorus). The condition is very good or better (no cracks or outer rim chips) and both sides play fine with slight surface sound and the disc comes in a original OKEH record sleeve. Little is known about Ed Andrews (such as age, place of birth, place of residence, date of death or any other recordings). In 1924 the OKEH Record Company decided to record male country blues singers and went looking for them in the Southern States and came across Ed Andrews in Georgia and recorded these 2 sides in April of 1924. Apparently they are the first commercially released recordings of a male country blues singer. Because of a lyric in the song on the flip side it is believed that Ed Andrews might have been blind. It is also believed that he was in his 50s' at the time of the recordings. Full refund (less the mailing postage) if not satisfied. Payment by Paypal. The regular air mail postage is $20.00 USD within Canada (insured and with a tracking number) and $22.00 USD to the USA (insured and with a tracking number) and it is $35.00 USD to the UK, Europe and other overseas destinations. I WILL NOT SHIP THIS ITEM BY SURFACE MAIL TO ANY LOCATION IN THE WORLD.
