Description

Paul Tortelier Bach Solo Cello Suites UK 3LP Box on EMI HMV SLS 798/3. Pristine Mint throughout, this is the best condition set I have seen of this 51 year old set. All the hallmarks of the first type issue: Linen finish to the box, Stereo sticker in the lid, advertising poly lined inners. The ink often rubs off these in places, this one has no ink loss. No marks to the playing surfaces. Note that lovely clean spine also to the undamaged box. All labels super clean with barely a spindle mark between them. Also a great performance. I saw him play in an Art Gallery once, and have never heard his equal since. As a long term Bach fanatic, I turn to this and the Bjlsma sets most often when listening for pleasure.

If the appearance or playgrade suggests it requires it, our records are cleaned on a wash and vac machine, using art du son fluid in distilled water.  This is already in a new heavy poly outer with antistatic inners added with outer sleeve and records all layered behind each other to prevent splits.
