ED1 Pre Melodiya (so about 1963 at the latest) of four of the USSR's finest soloists Emil Gilels Leonid Kogan Rudolf Barshai and Mstislav Rostropovich in the 1st Faure Piano Quartet. Although people have claimed to have sold a first of this, I note they had French and American sleeves on their LPs and often local labels. This has the Cyrillic & English text to its flipback sleeve and MK (Mezhdunarodnaya Kniga) labels. Record clearly states it was pressed in the USSR. Thick heavy mono vinyl, no true stereo exists of this, and the playing surfaces are Near Mint, with no damage to the sleeve, just a sticker which may be the price, a small neat circle. Looks to have been played 2 or 3 times ever going on the condition of the labels, and plays fine on my ortofon mono cart. Whether or not earlier pressings exist of this, here is a pristine mint proper Soviet pressing with a home market sleeve, a true country of origin issue. If the appearance or playgrade suggests it requires it, our records are cleaned on a wash and vac machine, using art du son fluid in distilled water. This is already in a new heavy poly outer with antistatic inners added with outer sleeve and records all layered behind each other to prevent splits.
