Description
Recorded by Eddie Cochran in 1958, 'Don't Bye Bye Baby Me' was not discovered until the 1980s when it appeared on the specialist Rockstar label which had acquired the master from a former restaurant owner who knew Eddie in the late 1950s and persuaded him to record 'Don't Bye Bye Baby Me', a song the restaurateur had written.
The track was recorded at the legendary Gold Star studio, Hollywood in the summer of 1958 with Eddie on guitar and Earl Palmer playing drums. This is a totally unique 78 rpm acetate (a quickly produced test record cut onto a metal disc with a lacquer coating) featuring the distinctive Gold Star label.
This is the backing track only. The music does not fade but breaks down (i.e. the musicians stop playing) at 02:31 minutes.
The other side is blank with no label.
The condition is VG+ and it plays very well without clicks or jumps.
