C’MON EVERYBODY/DON'T EVER LET ME GO
London American HL-U.8792 78RPM
SLEEVE: No original sleeve unfortunately. This record will be supplied with a stiff card sleeve and packed boxed with stiff card and bubble wrap.
LABELS: No stickers or writing on black and silver London labels. Labels clean with little wear. There is a W/T sticky stamp on the second side, which I believe to be tax related, and of the period. Spindle holes intact and in good order.
The sound quality on this record is good from the groove signal. No track-long distorted/worn groove. This cut has notoriously high levels/ heavily modulated grooves, which can lead to buzzing on a worn groove, but this is a really dynamic sound. Surface retains some sheen (disc has not been treated or cleaned), and there are numerous surface marks and light scratches (one or two slightly deeper – some of which are audible on playback), plays through with no sticking or jumps even on light tracking weight. The image of the label run-out groove does capture the type of surface condition. Side B retains more gloss and has fewer surface marks, presumably having been played less. Playback of Side B is suitably better, since the song is a superb delicate ballad.
I’ve done what I can to carefully describe the condition and playback in detail. Item will of course be very carefully and securely packaged and sent using the preferred method of postage of the winning bidder.
