Description
EDDIE COCHRAN - 'SINGING TO MY BABY'. UK 1st Pressing (LONDON) HA-U 2093 (1958).
Very rare first UK version of Eddie Cochran's debut album. Guaranteed 1st pressing, with the sleeve lamination of front and back!
1st press wider diameter 'deep groove' nearer the edge of the plum labels. (The plum colour varies in my photos - this is just a variation and limitation of my phone camera).
Fully laminated sleeve (front and back) with large 'crescent' flip-backs grades EX+ to NEAR MINT! There is a very small, discreet 'touched-in' area to the top left corner of the sleeve (see photo). There is an area of lamination on the back, near the opening edge which was peeling away, but has been re-attached with clear PVA adhesive (see third to last photo).
Vinyl & labels grade EX+ – possibly better.
This is something incredibly special. This is 'Something Else', haha.
Certainly, this is ALL the money. But... it is an investment grade example. It is exceptional. You could routinely spend £200-ish on a VG+/EX example, but you will always want to upgrade - to this complete standalone example.
1950s sleeves are just beautiful artworks when they are as fantastic as this, but when they get damaged, bent or ripped - often with missing sections, they completely lose all their magic and charm.
I bought it in the same condition you see here. Alongside some others I am selling, this is top of the heap. A prime collector's piece.
