1968 Stax single


The Falcons gave us two great soul singers: Wilson Pickett and Eddie Floyd. While Pickett might have had more hits, there's little doubt that Floyd was right there in his shadow, releasing soul records that weren't as gritty, but might have had more Memphis.

Recording for Stax Records, Eddie hit it big in 1966 with "Knock On Wood" and would make the top of the R&B charts again in 1968 with "I've Never Found A Girl" and "Bring It On Home To Me." Just before those records, you find this cool slice.

The tracks here are “Big Bird” and “Holding On With Both Hands.”
