Description

Available here is a 12” vinyl LP by - Eddie Gale’s Ghetto Music. Issued in the US by Blue Note in 1968, this is the rare and collectible 1st pressing with the catalogue number BST 84294. Please see my images and the specifications below for further information and the track listing.

Vinyl Condition - Visual Appearance = Very Good / Sound Quality = Very Good-
Visually, the record is reasonably bright and clean but close examination will reveal a number of small surface marks. Some may be regarded as light scratches, although none are particularly raised to the touch. I’ve listened to both sides and the second is clearly the superior in sound quality. Side 1 has a few light clicks, with background crackle noticeable when the volume of the instrumentation dips. Side 2 has none of these issues, although there is a loudish buzz towards the end with what might be a partial jump, although it’s difficult to say for certain. I’ve given the record a a clean but the sound quality may well improve further with a little more dedicated attention.     

Sleeve/Cover Condition - Good - Original outer gatefold sleeve, with various signs of wear, including noticeable side/corner rubbing, with the top outer right neatly clipped at an angle. At some point in the past some edges were reinforced with tape. This has since been removed, leaving dry residue marks/abrasions. Other small marks may be spotted along with a small biro number written near the top of the inside spine. Inner is plain white die-cut and possibly a later replacement. An outer plastic cover offers protection against further wear.
