Description
For sale is this very scarce vinyl LP of EDDIE GALE'S GHETTO MUSIC on Blue Note Records 1968. This immaculate copy is the 1968 Blue Note U.S. 1st Stereo Pressing. It features a Unipak gatefold cover with the most fabulous artwork, Liberty Records advertising inner sleeve, Blue Note 1966-70 "A Division Of Liberty Records" pattern labels, the VAN GELDER stamp in the dead wax and the following matrices (hand etched):
Side One - BNST 84294 A Side Two - BNST 84294 B
Condition*:
The sleeve is very conservatively graded VG+. The front surface is close to near mint. There is a slight bump to the bottom L/H corner. There is very light wear to the other corners. There is slight discolouration immediately adjacent to the spine. The edges generally have almost no wear. The spine has wear and is a little yellowed. The back cover is also excellent with a near perfect surface. There is a slight impression of the disc when held up to the light. Again there is some discolouration immediately adjacent to the spine. 1 cm from the L/H edge there is a slightly dirty line caused, I think, by a previous overly tight plastic outer sleeve. Inside the gatefold is very clean and crisp - near perfect except for a small amount of foxing near the spine and right at the very edges of the top and left sides. The advertising inner sleeve is in good condition but has been folded at the corners to make it easier to take the disc in and out of the tight Unipak gatefold. Overall a really good sleeve.
The disc is a strong EX: The surfaces are clean, beautifully glossy and black and with signs of little to no play. Under the harshest of light there are almost no visible marks and none that look as if they've been caused by anything worse than taking the disc in and out of the sleeve a few times. The labels are perfect. The disc has been played through from start to finish and plays flawlessly. There is a little low crackle at the very start of side one after which the record plays through with very little audible surface. Overall a stunning copy of this rare Blue Note LP.

I am just selling a small number of records. I have given an honest appraisal based on careful visual inspection and thorough play testing. I do try to describe and where possible photograph all significant faults and I certainly won't intentionally hide anything. Please read the description carefully, look at the pictures and make your own mind up. The grading scale I have used goes from G to NM with VG+ as par. In other words: Good (G), Very Good (VG), Very Good+ (VG+), Excellent (EX) and Near Mint (NM). Anything better than that would be Mint and would be listed as new. Anything worse than Good I probably wouldn't be selling.
