INCREDIBLE unknown baroque sunshine pop MASTERPIECE for fans of Curt Boettcher, Gary Usher, Sagittarius and Brian Wilson! Eddie Hodges was a friend of legendary songwriter Tandyn Almer, who co-wrote the plug side of this 1967 single "Shadows and Reflexions," a glorious harmony-laden lush slice of vintage baroque popsike. It was later covered by UK freakbeat masters the Action. Also be sure to check out the less-heralded but still pretty amazing flipside, "Love Could Rule the World," written by the great Ed Cobb (who also wrote the Standells' "Dirty Water" and Gloria Jones' "Tainted Love") - it starts out like a loungey smooth pop croon but soon gets very trippy with some droney background rumbling and effects! Very hard to find single on the Sunburst label, same label as the incredible Zoo "Presents Chocolate Moose" album!
Vinyl grading is so subjective these days, and that's why, rather than just assigning a grade and hoping you agree, I'll include a full complete sound clip so you can judge for yourself.
