Description
Original 1958 copy of the famous Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis Cookbook Vol. 1 LP on Prestige PRLP-7141. Original Washington Ave. labels with Rudy Van Gelder's initials in the runoff. Classic soul-jazz with organist Shirley Scott and flautist Jerome Richardson. This copy is very nice. The disc has some light scratches and scuffs but plays quite beautifully, loud and clear with slight background crackle and occasional light ticks in some quieter places. Most of the time the music is much louder than any interference but the cracks does come through some of the time. Never enough to ruin the listen, though. No major scratches, no skips or catches, and no groove distortion. Very enjoyable. The cover is the best I have ever seen I'm calling it near mint, as there is really no wear at all visible. No seam splits, ringwear, or corner dings, except just a tiny one at the lower left. Shiny and beautiful, crisp and clean. The only other issue is a "4.98" written in pencil on the back. A beautiful cover. And a nice listen.
