A quick note: I’ve just started this eBay user name to try to separate out my main business - Vinyl Records - from the other items I'm selling. While this user name is new and has little feedback, I’ve been on eBay since 1998 and I invite you to check my feedback under user name webvinyl. Thanks!
DESCRIPTION
Eddie “Lockjaw” Davis with Shirley Scott - “Prestige Moodsville Volume 4” Prestige / Moodsville Records MVLP Vol. 4 (Mono) from 1960. Hard to Find Original Deep Groove Green / Turquoise Label First Pressing of this great Jazz album from Saxophonist Eddie “Lockjaw” Davis and Shirley Scott on Piano along with George Duvivier and Arthur Edgehill in a relaxed set of Ballads and Standards. First pressing on the Deep Groove Green / Turquoise with Silver Print Prestige Moodsville Mono labels and in the Original Laminated Sleeve with no Cutouts, Promo markings or Barcode. Recorded at Van Gelder Studio, Englewood Cliffs, NJ, January 31, 1960 by Rudy Van Gelder as indicated by the “RVG” that is machine stamped on both sides in the Runout Vinyl.
CONDITION
The Laminated Sleeve is in nice shape. There is some slight shelf wear and corner softening and a touch of lamination peeling on the opening edge. There is a small pencil notation on back in the upper left corner, probably erasable. Very solid with no splits, cutouts, other writing, tears, stains, etc. and would rate at least a good VG if not better. The Vinyl itself is in clean Glossy condition looking pretty lightly played. If you look closely you can spot some scuffs and light hairlines including a visible hairline - not an actual scratch that you can feel with a fingernail - across side 1. Plays mostly perfectly Near Mint all through but with a handful of random soft tics and some repeating soft tics on the last song of side 2. Mostly unnoticeable, and nothing that detracts from the music. A good VG visually but mostly plays WAY better and might be further improved with a better cleaning than I can give with my Discwasher brush. There are a couple light spindle trails but otherwise the labels are Near Mint.

Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less! If you are not satisfied that a purchase meets my description, I will do what I can to make it right if you give me the chance and work with me! Please feel free to check my feedback.
