ULTRA RARE 1957 RELEASE 78RPM "EDRIC CONNOR" ON ORIOLE LABEL SERIAL CB.1362
The iconic anthem was a favourite song on the United football stands in the late 1950s.
It was recorded in 1957 by Edric Connor who wrote the song as an ode to the Reds and ‘Busby’s babes’. The song grew hugely in popularity ahead of the 1957 FA Cup Final between Manchester United and Aston Villa.
Sadly, six out of the 11 players who started the game lost their lives nine months after in the Munich air disaster, when the plane carrying the team crashed after refuelling at Munich Airport, claiming the lives of 23 people.
