Tammy Grimes - "Gorey By Grimes - Stories By Edward Gorey, Performed By Tammy Grimes With Music" Caedmon Records TC 1651 from 1980. Super Hard To Find Original Vinyl Record featuring Star of Stage / TV / Movies Tammy Grimes reading / singing the written works of Edward Gorey! A great romp through the Macabre, Gothic world of Gorey and Grimes is perfect for the part! This is an almost impossible to find album. There are a few mentions of it in various blogs and such on the web but I have been unable to find any mention of other copies for sale or of past sales. Also, there seem to have been two versions of this album. All the pictures I have found of the album have a different cover art featuring photos of Gorey and Grimes, while this version features one of Gorey's great pieces of art! I don't think that there are any differences between the versions except the artwork and I know which one I'd rather have! Plus, from what I can figure, this version has to be even more scarce. Truly a classic!

In nice condition! The cover shows a little bit of shipping or storage wear. Basically, three of the corners are a little dinged and there is a sort of "crease" about an inch long about 1/2" down from the top edge in the middle right corner area. Nothing that is obvious or affects the art. There is no ring or edge wear to speak of. Still very nice and would easily rate at least a strong VG+ and probably better! Please note - any marks, streaks or blotches that you may see which are not mentioned in the write up (like those in the upper right corner of the cover) are scanner artifacts, not defects in the record cover... I will list any actual defects! The Vinyl is super! You might be able to spot a couple light sleeve scuffs if you really look close (and have better eyes than me...) but, judging by the single light spindle trail that I could spot, I'd guess it was probably only played once or at least not much more than that! In Pristine, close to New condition and should easily rate Near Mint!

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:

Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.

Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.

I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over eleven years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less! If you are not satisfied that a purchase meets my description, I will do what I can to make it right if you give me the chance and work with me! Please feel free to check my feedback.
