Description

Hello,

This auction is for the very rare, original release of Eels-Electro Shock Blues from Dreamworks on two 10" blue vinyl records. This is E's best album in my opinion. He wrote and recorded it during a period after his sister committed suicide and while his mother was dying of cancer. Death was certainly on his mind and this album served as a cathartic release. It shows in the emotion and passion which he pours into his singing and writing. The album swings from dark and depressing to uplifting and hopeful and back again and includes some of his very best songs like Cancer for the Cure, Efils' God, the infectious and anthemic Last Stop: This Town and the beautiful Climbing to the Moon.

This was briefly pressed on blue vinyl on two 10" records but CD's had by 1998 completely taken over and vinyl was only released sporadically in very limited collectors batches. This is one of those albums.

The records play beautifully and look great. It's hard for me to grade colored vinyl from a visual perspective but they've only been played 4-5 times. The vinyl is of the thinner variety so there is some slight warping that does not affect play in any way. I've even read that a slight bit of warping improves sound but you know what most opinions are like. The inserts are in great condition with a little bit of of ring wear but no seam splits. They have cool comic strips on them as well as all the lyrics. The cover has a small amount of ring wear but is still shiny and looks really nice with no noticeable blemishes except for a seam bend that goes all the way down the spine.

Shipping will be $3.50 for media mail and $7 for priority shipping in the lower 48. All international post will go through the global shipping program. Thanks and please check my other auctions for the Shootenany LP.
