Edward J. Smith, a man of many talents, primarily remembered today as a "Record Producer", released a huge number of commercial and subscription/private discs on numerous labels.  Of particular interest to record collectors, and, especially, lovers of Opera and Classical Vocal music are the releases on his "The Golden Age of Opera", "Unique Opera Records Corporation" and "A.N.N.A." labels.  I am pleased to offer several of these issues at this time.  This lot offers white label EJS #331 (1) featuring highlights from a 1949 performance of Cimarosa's IL MATRIMONIO SEGRETO featuring TITO SCHIPA, FEDORA BARBIERI, HILDE GUEDEN and BORIS CHRISTOFF plus operatic and song selections as performed by TITO SCHIPA from 1933 & 1964!  The disc(s) is/are in fine condition with no cracks, needle digs, heavy scratches or heavy surface wear.  Due to the often extremely rare sources from which the original performances were captured, the "B" grade vinyl and narrow grooving utilized by Mr. Smith to fully utilize as much of the recording surface as possible, all EJS issues incorporate "flaws" not otherwise found acceptable with commercially-produced discs of the same vintage.  This is a "preview" copy from a former reviewer/educator's collection and as such may have some minor flaws to the labels.  The selection(s) and artist detail(s) are printed on the label of each disc which will be shipped in a plain sleeve.
