Description

THE ELECTRIC FLAG

"A Long Time Comin'"

One of the greatest LP's of the 60's, and along with Blood Sweat & Tears' "Child Is Father To The Man" and Paul Butterfield's "Resurrection Of Pigboy Crabshaw" one of the trio of all-important ground-breaking HORN BAND LP's making their debut in 1967, based in blues and rock and jazz, and fueled by the 'anything goes' musical sensibilities of the mid-late 60's. The ELECTRIC FLAG was the brainchild of ex-Butterfield guitarist and legendary figure Michael Bloomfield, who along with drummer BUDDY MILES created a stylistic breakthrough that laid the groundwork for everything that followed, including CHICAGO, CHASE, and others.

This is an ultra-rare US PR0M0 ONLY MONO PRESSING, never issued commercially in mono! Has the 'Special Mono Radio Station Copy' sticker and complete intact TIMING STRIP on the front cover. There is light cover wear and some slight back cover soil, typical 'shelf wear' only, no abuse. My guess is that this LP was rarely - IF EVER - played, and is thus in EXCELLENT condition, with gleaming white labels free of writing or stickers, and still shining playing surface with a couple of tiny and purely superficial marks probably just from handling. A SUPER nice copy.

TRACKS:

  • Killing Floor
  • Groovin' Is Easy
  • Over-Lovin' You
  • She Should Have Just
  • Wine
  • Texas
  • Sittin' In Circles
  • You Don't Realize
  • Another Country
  • Easy Rider

Personally, this LP and the other 2 LP's mentioned at the outset of this description, plus Jefferson Airplane's "Crown Of Creation" and The Byrds' "Younger Than Yesterday" to me represent the pinnacle of American music in the later 60's.

THE ELECTRIC FLAG "Long Time Comin'" is NOT to be missed!

Overall a nice VG+ to VG++ cover and

SOLID VG++ to NEAR MINT MONO PR0M0 ONLY LP
