1971 SELF-TITLED LP IN EX/EX+ CONDITION

From my own personal collection, up for sale is this rare debut self-titled album by the Electric Light Orchestra on vinyl LP. The album was released in 1971 on the EMI Harvest Records label with catalogue number SHVL 797.

This debut album contains some highly memorable music from the creative minds of Jeff Lynne and Roy Wood, including classics like the superb '10538 Overture', 'Battle of Marston Moor', '1st Movement', 'Mr. Radio' and 'Queen of the Hours'. It's still one of my favourite albums by the band, and one of the last of theirs I'm (reluctantly) selling!

The album features a textured gatefold sleeve, and the disc has been stored in the original paper sleeve since purchase.

CONDITION:

Vinyl: Excellent: Labels clean, vinyl clean and glossy. Sound clarity is excellent. A low level of vinyl 'crackle' can occasionally be heard at times, but it is unobtrusive.

Gatefold Sleeve: Excellent+: Just some very minor shelf wear in the form of mild rubbing to bottom edge and spine, but otherwise in very nice clean condition.

All albums are graded visually (under strong artificial lighting) and audibly (by listening in full unless otherwise stated). GRADING INFORMATION:

Records are graded according to UK Record Collector Magazine - with the addition of how I grade surface noise:

Plus (+) or minus (-) afterwards indicates slightly above or below the following grades.

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality, and surface noise is inaudible. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be graded as ‘Mint’.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. There may be occasional light surface noise. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Surface noise may be audible on most tracks, and always during quiet passages, but is not too overbearing. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
