ELECTRIC WIZARD - "Chrononaut" 10"
Mans Ruin records (MR083)
The first (purple) pressing of this 1 track EP (parts 1 and 2) from 1997.
Limited to 1500 copies.
This is in very good condition, having only been played once or twice.
I bought this at the time because I wanted to check out the recording
quality (from a local studio) - which is very bass heavy, but not quite epic/expansive enough.
They later ended-up recording their albums at my old band’s studio in the New Forest.
On reflection, the production there wasn’t a whole lot better…
However, this is still classic Wizard - although in a more stoner/Kyuss style than their later
doom/dark noise. No disrespect meant to the Electric wizard guys by selling this,
but I haven’t played it, and as it’s a rare release it deserves a better home.
This disc is from my over-sized record collection: predominantly punk, but in the broadest sense of the word.
From early ‘80s anarcho-punk up to ‘90s post-hardcore and to present day what-ever-you-now-call-it...
(and everything in between: thrash, grindcore, power violence, straight edge, garage, emo, screamo etc.)
The process of weeding out, as the saying goes.
To make room (and money) I’m finally getting rid of the unloved and the unplayed.
Running a punk distro for 10 years has left me with a surplus of unnecessary records.
They deserve a more appreciative home than mine.
When I shuffle through my collection, if I don’t remember how it sounds - out it goes.
So most records I’m listing for auction were never really played and as a consequence
are in good condition. Any sleeve marks, blemishes or defects will be pointed out. Same goes for the vinyl.
I have a couple of hundred 7”s and 12”s to sell over the next few weeks.
So watch out.
Any money made from these sales will inevitably go straight back into buying new records (on vinyl). Amen.
