LEGENDARY & NECESSARY boxset back from the late 60's/early 70's on the Philips Prospective 21 Siecle series with silver psychedelic covers that featured the top of the cream of electronic/musique concrete/electroacoustic recordings from the pioneers of the genre!! Other releases on the same label included composers like Iannis Xenakis, Dubravko Detoni, Jean Guillou, John Cage, Edgard Varese, Mauricio Kagel, Makoto Shinohara, Gottfried Michael Koenig, Edgardo Canton and others. No need to say that this one is the most rare & collectable item in the series, seen in the past in catalogues going for +300 euros!!!

A really deluxe release with impressive and beautiful boxset(a real work of art!!!), massive book with descriptions and photos plus 4 long-playing records that will certainly blow your mind off!!! Each record features 1 electronic studio from the 4 of the most important electronic music studios in the 60's: the studio of the ORTF in Paris, the Utrecht Studio voor Elektronische Muziek, the studio NHK of the japanese radio and of course the polish experimental music studio in Warsaw. I'm pretty sure that you're more or less aware of the musics possibly in the 1st record(the french one), but let me assure you that the best and most essential material lies in the rest 3 record, which are mostly undocumented and not released on any other medium until today!!! Experimental electronics, experimental techniques, concrete tape splicing and all sorts of experimentations will make this box an unforgettable listening experience from the future. Sounds very "fresh" after +40 years and by far better than most of the material in the same genre released today!!!

Box lies in beautiful excellent condition, fantastic reflective silver psychedelic cover artwork inside black box, in really fantastic condition, just a little bit of wear around the edges!! Vinyl look new and play excellent with minor crackling except from 6526 003 which looks vg++ and plays with noticeable crackle and 6526 004 that looks and plays excellent, so you've got an average excellent condition for the vinyls, while the book lies in excellent condition!! Just impossilbe to find such a copy today!!!
