Beautiful and absolutely complete! This is an early Mono pressing of this 5 LP and 1 EP Box Set on the black and silver Deep Groove “Long Playing Microgroove” Verve Label.
Also included is the original hardback book titled “The Gershwins Words Upon Music”, copyright 1959, plus the five pieces of Bernard Buffet artwork inside their original custom poster board holder. Inside the box are the 4 pieces of corrugated cardboard that came with this set, which makes this set 100% complete as it came from the factory!
The Bernard Buffett artwork is so Mint and crisp that we are not even sure it had ever been out of its holder until we carefully looked at it. The holder itself is Near Mint, as is the hardback book.
The 5 LPs are Mint with a beautifully preserved glossy luster. The 1 EP is Near Mint.
The bottom and top of the box were originally attached by a very thin piece of paper, which is part of the artwork attached to the cover, and it is now neatly separated. Structurally the box itself is in nice shape and flatter than most boxes its age. The bottom part of the box has a 1/2 inch top left corner split and a 3/8 inch top right corner split. The top part of the box has a 2 inch top right corner split, and the top left corner is splitting but still held together by the paper on the inside. The rest of the box shows light corner rubbing and some light surface wear that you’d expect from a box this age, but the overall presentation of this box is well preserved and stunningly beautiful.
