ELMAN RECITAL (MONO)
Description
This auction is for a very good and very rare original copy of 'Elman Recital' produced in 1957 by Decca Records. The record features a virtuoso performance on violin by Mischa Elman, with piano accompaniment by Joseph Seiger. The Decca LXT Series is very sought after by collectors, offering many of the best mono peformances on record, and many offer excellent sound quality for their time.
The Catalogue number is Decca LXT 5303.
The Matrix numbers are ARL-3425-1E / ARL-3426-1E
The Mother/Stamper codes are 1/k and 1/c
The Tax Code stamp is RT

Condition
COVER
GD TO VG = Normal wear and tear on the cover, with no major defects, i.e. no rips or tears in the card, and no major creasing. A small area of the laminating material has peeled back on the front right hand side (see photo). There is also very slight discoloration on small areas of the back. Otherwise the cover is clean, and there are no spine splits.
INNER SLEEVE
VG = Normal wear and tear - appears to be the original inner sleeve.
RECORD
(Side One)
VG = Obviously been played many times but no major deterioration is sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratch
(Side Two)
Ex = Shows some signs of being played but there is very little lessening in sound quality.
AUDIO
Ex = Overall the sound quality is excellent. There do not appear to be any jumps in the vinyl, and the record does not 'stick' at all during playing. Most of the gaps are silent, with no audible pops or ticks.
