This session was recorded in New York on August 19, 1963 and features Elmo Hope on piano, Lawrence Jackson on trumpet, Freddie Douglas on soprano, John Gilmore on tenor, Ronnie Boykins on bass, Philly Joe Jones on drums, Earl Coleman and Marcel Daniels on vocals. SIDE 1: ONE FOR JOE; ECSTASY; THREE SILVER QUARTERS and A NIGHT IN TUNISIA. SIDE 2: TRIPPIN’; IT SHOULDN’T HAPPEN TO A DREAM; KEVIN; MONIQUE; and GROOVIN’ HIGH. This is a Mono recording

I have rated this LP as VG+ for the following reasons. The only reason it doesn’t have a M- rating is that there are a few very light marks on Side 2, which do not interfere with play. Otherwise, the vinyl is clean. There is no sign of wear around either side of the spindle hole. The record jacket is in excellent condition, with no sign of wear, except at the very bottom of the lower left corner.
