Description
Original UK Jet label stereo 1st press LP.This is the follow up LP to 'A New World Record', which was written in three weeks in a Swiss chalet by Jeff Lynne and recorded between June & August 1977, being released in October 1977. This was an instant Platinum best seller and was followed by four hit singles and a world tour lasting 9 months.
This is the original issue with the poster and spaceship intact, as well as the lyric inners and the A-2U, B-3U, A-2U, B-2U matrices on both LP's of the first pressings.
The Garrod & Lofthouse glossy gatefold sleeve is intact & in EX+ condition, with some very light corner/edge wear and some light storage rubbing/scuffing on the outer cover. The spine is intact and fully readable, the lyric inners are intact (one has a small edge repair) & in EX condition and the poster & space station are intact and in EX+ condition. The records are in visually EX+ condition, with only one or two faint sleeve removal hairlines visible on sides 1 & 2 and a couple of faint hairlines visible on sides 3 & 4. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with evidence of only one or two faint spindle markings on each side. The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops, hiss or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some low background noise during the run in grooves. Overall a really great, loud & clear listen. The matrix nos. are; UAS-1100, A-2U mother stamper 2-RDA Allen, B-3U mother stamper 1-RRP Allen & UAS-2100, A-2U stamper 3-GTO, B-2U stamper 2-RMD.
This is one of the early copies of the 1st pressing of the original 1977 UK stereo 1st issue of this album!
