Description
Offered for sale is an original U.S. mono white label promotional copy of Emerson, Lake & Palmer, the 1971 debut LP by Emerson, Lake & Palmer.
Note: Mono copies were issued only for use by AM radio stations; all copies sold in stores were issued in stereo.
About this copy: This copy of Emerson, Lake & Palmer is a 1971 U.S. mono pressing on the Cotillion label.
The stereo cover is VG+ with a couple of minor creases and slight wear at the mouth. There are two stickers on the cover - a round orange sticker that says "PROMOTIONAL dj copy monaural NOT FOR SALE" and another one that says "PROMOTIONAL DJ COPY" and lists three songs that the label was recommending for airplay. The sticker listing the songs is VG+ with slight edge wear.
The mono white label promotional disc is VG++ and very close to M- with a couple of very faint sleeve scuffs. There are a couple of spindle marks on the labels, but no significant marks on the vinyl. It's a clean disc that has had little play. The disc was pressed at the Specialty pressing plant.
A nice copy of a very rare Emerson, Lake & Palmer LP and the only mono copy of this album we've ever seen or had for sale.
